| Description: |
The Robinson Music Library owns 40,500 volumes of printed music, consisting primarily of scores and parts of performance repertoire for solo instruments and chamber groups. The Library features an outstanding collection of 2-piano music. |

The Library maintains both reference and circulating collections of printed music. The reference section consists of collected sets and monuments of music, intended for study. There is also a separate section of circulating miniature scores. |

Description: |
The Library owns approximately 11,500 volumes of books. The collection focuses on Western art music, and has a limited number of sources outside of this scope. The Library also maintains a small Preparatory collection designed for the younger student. |

The books in the Library are divided into reference and circulating collections. All of the books are arranged according to the Library of Congress classification scheme. |

Current issues may be found in the periodical shelves,located beyond the reference area in a study area. Bound Periodicals are shelved alphabetically along the east wall of the library. Bound periodicals dated prior to 2003 are located in storage. |

The Library owns approximately 27,000 AV materials, including over 13,000 CDs and a growing DVD collection. The collection includes recordings of selected CIM faculty recitals, opera programs and orchestra performances. All audio/visual materials are available for use in the Library Media Center.

Recordings of CIM faculty recitals, orchestra concerts and other special events are a great asset to the library's collection. These recordings are in a variety of formats from reel-to-reel tape to compact disc. They are cataloged in the card catalog and are available for listening in the Media Center. |

Most of the collection is accessible at the Library Media Center. A small portion of reel-to-reel tapes are currently in storage and are accessible within 24 hours of a request. |
